Coach K Returns to Mt. Gaoligong Ultra

In 2006, Coach K ran her first marathon.
She never could have imagined where a single pair of running shoes would take her.
Running has carried her across finish lines, across mountains, and across oceans. In 2016, she was invited to China as a special guest to compete in the inaugural Mt. Gaoligong 104-mile Ultra. An opportunity that she described as a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience. She finished as the 2nd place female that year.
Now, ten years later, the race is returning, and so is Coach K!
This time, she’s not running just for herself. She’s running for the kids of WeROCK.
Every Saturday, we watch young athletes lace up their shoes and take brave steps toward goals they once thought were impossible. Coach K’s hope is that by saying “yes” to big dreams — even the scary ones — she can show them what is possible. When you combine courage, discipline, and belief, you can climb any mountain.
Running has taken her around the world. But more importantly, it has taught her that bold dreams begin with a single mile.
As Coach K takes on 104 miles in the mountains of China, she’s inviting you to sponsor a mile and help fuel the mission of WeROCK — so that every child in our program learns to dream big when they lace up their shoes.
Because you never know where those shoes might take you.
