I am a licensed speech pathologist. Currently, I guess you’d say that I am retired, although I
continue to consult 1-2 days a week. I served as a Special Education Administrator for the last
25 years. In my capacity as a practicing speech pathologist and educational administrator, I
have always focused on positive outcomes and development of our most precious
I served on the board of the California Speech and Hearing Association for 12 years and was
President of that board from 2013-2015. During my tenure as CSHA President, I led the
association through some major changes which included development of a 5 year Strategic Plan
as well as an overhaul of the CSHA bylaws.
I have been married to Michael (also a speech pathologist) for 40 years. We have 3 grown
children and 2 grandchildren. We have lived in Laguna Niguel for almost 36 years. My family
supports all my crazy running activities.
I ran my first marathon (Los Angeles) in 2011, and have run 20 total marathons since then, 8 of
which were Boston. My first Boston Marathon was on April 15 th , 2013…but that is a story for
another day. I most recently crossed the finish line at the Boston Marathon on April 18, 2022.
I love running. It has been a great stress reliever, a welcome social experience, and a joyful way
to stay healthy and fit.
